Set up AutoDrive and practise it in Replay

At the end of this guide you will have AutoDrive rules set for one symbol, practised in AutoDrive Replay, and running under your control on your own MT5 DEMO account.

AutoDrive runs your own DCA and hedge rules through the EA on your MT5. It needs MT5 running with the EA attached and connected (Install the PipLoop bundle, Connect an MT5 account), and Algo Trading on in MT5. Many traders use a VPS to keep MT5 running.

Open AutoDrive in the sidebar and choose your account. Its status should start with EA connected.

  1. Select Replay in the chart toolbar. Replay setup opens, marked PAPER.
  2. Pick a symbol with recorded ticks, then a Replay range (Start date, End date) or Random start.
  3. Under Practice account, set the Starting balance and select Start Replay.
  4. The header shows REPLAY. The dock on the chart plays, pauses, changes speed and exits.

Replay is a local simulation on recorded ticks: nothing is sent to MT5. If AutoDrive is ON on your MT5 account, it keeps running meanwhile. Replay keeps its own settings, and a new session starts with every automatic part OFF.

Do steps 3 to 6 in Replay first, then repeat them on your DEMO account.

Buy and sell are set apart. Open a side with its gear button next to BUY or SELL at the top. Each BUY SIDE and SELL SIDE panel has its own Strategy:

  • Position sizing: Initial lot, Multiplier, Max lot / order, Max orders.
  • DCA ladder: Trigger mode (Distance or Distance + EMA), Direction, and two stages split by Use until order #. Each stage has its own Order spacing · pt, the distance in points between DCA orders.
  • First Order Filters: EMA, trading time and price zone for the first order only.
  • Profit management: Profit mode, SL & TP scope (Basket or Individual), BE line, TP in points, Per-order SL, Cut order.

A value is sent when you press Enter or leave the field. Wait for EA settings applied; Not applied yet · waiting for EA means MT5 has not confirmed it.

Each DCA order is sized from the one before with the Multiplier, up to Max lot / order, so exposure grows with every order. Before turning a side on, use DCA in the chart toolbar (Buy side or Sell side) to estimate the ladder’s floating P/L between two prices, and make sure the account can carry it.

In the quick controls at the top, BUY or SELL turns automatic entries for that side ON or OFF. CLOSE offers ALL, PROFIT and LOSS for that side and closes at once.

  1. With AutoDrive positions open, select HEDGE/TP. Two draft lines appear on the chart: HEDGE and TOTAL TP.
  2. Drag each line to your price and select Confirm on its box.
  3. With both on, PipLoop asks Enable Protected mode? New entries and DCA stop, SL/TP is removed from the AutoDrive positions, and whichever triggers first runs; the other is cancelled.
  4. When the hedge triggers, BUY and SELL are balanced: choose Keep Hedge & Resume or Close Hedge & Resume. When TOTAL TP closes the basket, Keep & Resume lets new entries trade again.

Box figures are estimates; execution and profit are not guaranteed.

  • The switch next to the AutoDrive title reads ON or OFF. OFF pauses new automatic entries; existing positions, protection and saved BUY/SELL settings are kept and still managed. ON checks current MT5 state before resuming (you may see SYNC…). If it reads RESTART, select it to reconnect and re-check.
  • CLOSE ALL in the dock under the chart closes all AutoDrive positions and pending orders on this symbol, including protection. It asks for a second click: on a computer, select CLOSE ALL, then Click again to close all within 4 seconds; on a phone, select CLOSE ALL, then Tap again to close all. DELETE PENDING cancels pending orders only.

Open PipLoop in your phone’s browser: AutoDrive shows the master switch at the top and the tabs Cockpit, Positions, Strategy and Summary. MT5 must stay running.

  • Practise on DEMO first. DCA adds orders as price moves, and a hedge locks exposure rather than ending it. Neither makes a result certain.
  • Automation still needs watching: check positions and margin often, and switch OFF when in doubt.
  • MT5 Algo Trading is off: enable Algo Trading in MT5. If AutoDrive cannot reach MT5, check that MT5 is running with the EA attached, then select RESTART.
  • A message says automatic execution is available for DEMO hedging accounts in this phase: use a DEMO hedging account. Manual controls keep working.
